Cariboo - Chilcotin Coast - Bella Coola

The Cariboo is a region of British Columbia along the plateau stretching from the Fraser Canyon to the Cariboo Mountains. The name is in reference to the woodland caribou that were once abundant in the region. The Cariboo was the site of a gold rush in the 1800's and many historical elements of this remain for visitors to enjoy. This region offers beautiful natural sights for hiking, exploration, fishing and relaxation.

The Chilcotin region is has a distinct identity with the vast majority of the population are members of the Tsilhqot'in First Nations people or its subdivisions. It is well known for its population of wild Mustang horses.

Bella Coola is sparsely populated area where the Nuxalk peoples reside. It offers extensive fishing, hiking, and eco-tourism opportunities.
